Sushri Gopeshwari Devi - Biography

Born in Nausori, Fiji Islands to a very illustrious family well known for its social service and spiritual learning, Didi Ji later moved to reside in New Zealand. She became aware of God’s existence at a very early age. With further knowledge of Vedic philosophy from “Prem Ras Sidhant” (philosophy of Divine Love) written by Bhaktiyog Rasavatar Bhagawadanant Sant 1008 Jagadguru Swami Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, Didi Ji had been deeply moved and touched by the inspiring words of wisdom so logically, scientifically, spiritually philosophically and yet simply put in a small book. All her spiritual questions were answered, and a deep yearning arose in her heart to meet His Divine Grace, who was so intimate with God and who could guide her in that direction. In 1980, the cry of her heart was heard and only through the Divine Grace, Didi Ji went to India as a medical student, but her main intention was to meet with this Supreme master of the age. Very soon Didi Ji realized that medicine was not her calling. She wanted to be exclusively in service of God but didn’t know how. The Lord had some other plan for her and that compelled her from within to switch to Law. Didi Ji holds B.A., LL. B (Hon) & Master of Arts degree.

Didi Ji was always interested in knowing about God and would often tell her parents that her goal in life was to serve God by serving the people of this world and that marriage would be a distraction and an impediment towards achieving this purpose. She once said, “Since I have given my heart and soul to my Beloved Lord, my body has no choice but to be only in the service of my Beloved Gurudev. This bliss of my Beloved supersedes every other happiness or sensual pleasures that one gets from this transient material world.”

The hour she found herself at the Divine lotus feet of her Spiritual Master she felt that she had found an oasis in the dessert at last and knew she has met with her ‘Guru’. She realized that Shri Maharaj Ji as his name “Kripalu” denotes, is the very personification of Grace itself. Being near Him gave her a feeling of intimacy with her Beloved Radha Rani.

On completion of her academic studies, Didi Ji was instructed by Shri Maharaj Ji to spread the Divine message to yearning hearts and eager ears. Thus in 1985, she took the order of Sanyas and the entire philosophy of the Vedas was imparted to her by Shri Maharaj Ji's Grace. It started coming to her naturally. It is the tremendous grace of her Gurudev, which allows her to be so eloquent and well versed. Her audience is always amazed and baffled to witness such a dynamic speaker with such vast knowledge and lots of energy. She has won the hearts of many, young and old with her sincerity and very giving nature.

Didi Ji has travelled far and wide for near 40 years to Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, Europe and the UK. She is always on the move, enlightening the souls, and bringing joy and peace in so many people’s lives.

Didi Ji is going to lead a series of meetings in Radha Govind Bhakti Yog Mandir on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami from August 23  to August 27.
