Krishna Janmashtami
Krishna Janmashtami is one of the most important holidays for the devotees. On this day, God descended to the Earth in His beautiful form of Krishna. He stayed in this world for 125 years before returning to His Divine Abode. The word 'janm' means 'appearance'. The birthday of Shri Krishna is traditionally observed on the eighth night after the August full moon. The meaning of the word 'asht' is 'eighth'. Krishna Janmashtami is joyfully celebrated in the whole of India, and especially enthusiastically in the area of Braj - the place of Krishna's childhood leelas.
